The Secretary to the Benue State government, Targema Tarkema, was rushed to the teaching hospital in the state capital, Makurdi, after collapsing at home.
The Special Adviser to the state governor on Media and ICT, Mr. Tarhav Agerzua, also confirmed that the SSG was receiving treatment at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital
A family member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the SSG had a brain tumour.
It was learnt that the state executive meeting that lasted a whole day might have aggravated his condition.
According to reports by punch it was gathered that Tarkema collapsed at about 11am.
